In the beginning of Network Marketing (MLM) there was a dreamer that wanted to help ordinary people make a good living for their families. The person started what we now know as a network marketing company and began to realize that dream of helping people sell products to their friends, family and others to make a fair commission from the sales made by their own personal business.
FACT: NETWORK MARKETING IS A GREAT CONCEPT!
Setting people up to tell others about goods and services they could buy and have them delivered right to their front door. . . and they could even earn money telling others about these products. . . WOW!
In fact, Network Marketing became so popular so fast that it was immediately noticed by the major media networks who became extremely frightened of the growth of this new powerful marketing method. More importantly the networks took notice on the way in which this new industry was advertising the products that were being sold!

This was seen as a real and direct threat to the network media's advertising income. The network media knew they had to stop the spread of this fledgling industry before it really got a foothold in the mainstream as an accepted marketing outlet.
They set out to put a stop to this new industry by doing what they do. . . creating news stories about the new marketing methods that were less than flattering!
I remember many years ago hearing about an MLM company on the news going out of business saying a little old women lost her life savings in this company's "pyramid scheme". The story did not tell you that the little old lady invested $75 to become a distributor of that company and that she received products that she used and showed other people to garner orders. The entire story focused on how she was ripped off in this "pyramid scheme." In fact almost every other sentence had the words "pyramid scheme" in it along with just about every derogatory word in the dictionary. The story ran for weeks on the news on a few major networks (I do not remember the company name that went broke or the networks that ran the story as if it were the top story of the year, but at that time in history there were only four networks on the air and you needed rabbit ear lantanas to view them in black and white.)
Their was no CNN,
Fox.
USA Today national newspaper (s) and defiantly no Microsoft, Google or internet, a PC was years away from even being concieved..

Then there was the bank story that cost people millions and it got two broadcasts and was gone, or the manufacturing company that went bust putting 1000's out of work and again one broadcast. Any business, be it a restaurant, a bank or a construction company can go under and flop if mismanaged! But the little old lady was news for weeks and months! Hum.
Why was the little old lady who was taken in the "pyramid scheme" so news worthy?
Well folks, it is called "BRAIN WASHING." Just think about it! If you tell yourself a lie over and over again, you will begin to believe the lie is truth. If you are told something from a trusted source (National News Media) you will soon begin to believe it as the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!
The media used to be the only connection most people had with the rest of the country. The media networks reigned supreme in the 4 network black and white TV days! People trusted the TV so much that if the network media told an audience to go out and buy corn flakes they went out and bought corn flakes. Brain washing (I mean advertising) was so good back then, it built empires that are still standing today!
Like the brain washing of America in the past, still today 40 years later, the misconception continues to be passed down from generation to generation. This serves to keep good honest people from finding and getting to work in good network marketing companies!
I am not trying to tell you not to do your due diligence in finding and selecting a network marketing company. There are some real scam outfits out there.
With the onset of the internet and its popularity growing so fast there are even more scam artists starting companies that are popping up everyday!
WARNING: DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
Stay away from ANY company offering to pay you to recruit people into their program which do not sell products and/or services! This exactly describes a pyramid scheme!
Find a company that has a product you like and will want to use each month. There are hundreds of companies selling wonderful products online.
Legitimate companies do not pay you to recruit people, they pay you to STP (Sell The Product). They also pay you when distributors signed up in your downline work to STP (Sell The Product)! It is, in fact, against federal law to pay someone to recruit another person into a company program without supplying that person a product or service! So please beware.
As you looked for a good home based business opportunity, have you run across the thousands of fancy lead capture pages that have copies of the owners bank records prominently plastered all over the page for all to see? Don't be fooled! It is a huge mistake to think that because someone else made thousands of dollars selling products . . . that you will too! Making thousands of dollars over night is NOT a possibility with ANY company, but creating wealth is possible with hard work and dilligence.
99.999999% of everyone joining a company(s) that offers over night riches will fail and perhaps lose thousands of dollars in the ride down the poor house slide.
Network Marketing can be difficult.
It is a business and it can bring a lifetime of rewards but only if you work it as a business and not as a hobby.
